HBM is launching the MX840A eight-channel universal amplifier that supports up to 15 different transducer types per channel. The amplifier is designed to provide increased operational flexibility in measuring mechanical, electrical and thermal quantities.
Strain gauges and inductive transducers - in full- and half-bridge configurations - voltage, current and resistive transducers, along with all common thermocouple types and rotary encoders are all supported. The amplifier also features an input for CANbus.
Typical applications include automated testing of system components, mobile measurement data acquisition, long-term monitoring or laboratory applications. All eight inputs provide 24-bit analogue-to-digital converter (DC) and synchronised data acquisition, and are electrically isolated to ensure high measurement accuracy.
TEDS transducers and sensors configure channels automatically thanks to HBM's Advanced Plug and Measure (APM), thereby increasing further the amplifier's versatility. This reduces setup times to the minimum in daily operation and improves efficiency and quality. A comprehensive and open sensor database is available if TEDS equipment is not used.
The MX840A features Ethernet TCP/IP and automatic configuration, enabling rapid and simplified connection to a PC. The amplifier has a comprehensive software package that comprises the free QuantumX-Assistant packages and libraries for integration into LabView or programming environments such as Visual Studio .NET for programmers.
