CAN in Automation (CiA)visit website

CAN in Automation (CiA) will exhibit at the SPS/IPC/Drives trade show in Nuremberg, Germany in hall 1, booth 537. The international user's and manufacturer's organization for Controller Area Network (CAN) offers the latest information about the CANopen specifications and the group's international standardization activities, such as the CANopen profile for motion control (IEC CD 61800-7). Competent staff will also be available for information about the new functions of the CANopen application layer (CiA 301 and CiA 302), the standardized gateways for TCP/IP networks (CiA 309), AS-Interface (CiA 446) and multi-layered CANopen networks (CiA 400). Visitors are also encouraged to inquire about the CANopen profiles in the making, e.g. photovoltaic systems, wind power plants and RFID reading devices. At the SPS/IPS/Drives congress, Thilo Schumann will talk about CANopen Safety and Reiner Zitzmann will talk about standardized gateways to CANopen networks.

The non-profit group CiA e. V. represents more than 420 member companies worldwide. CiA members develop CAN-based higher-layer protocols and device profiles. CiA representatives work in international standardization committees, e.g. IEC and ISO. The non-profit group organizes free seminars in some countries to spread the knowledge of the CAN technology.

CAN in Automation (CiA) GmbH will be distributing free electronic product catalogs for CAN, CANopen and J1939 products as well as the CAN Newsletter from the booth. The company is the commercial affiliate of the non-profit group. CiA GmbH organizes seminars as well as national and international conferences worldwide. CiA GmbH has developed and sells the Conformance Test tool for CANopen devices and provides the CANopen Safety Chip CSC01.
