A sixth edition of the Guide was published on 12 November 2011 - see Guide to the New Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, 6th edition.
MachineBuilding.net has published the fourth edition of its popular FREE Guide to the New Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This is the first new edition since the Machinery Directive came into force on 29 December 2009 and the Official guidance was published.
This new edition therefore benefits from additional guidance relating to the detail contained in the new Directive, together with updated web links and an expanded section for sources of further information.
Written in plain English, the guide is packed with material that will help companies comply with the requirements of the new Machinery Directive. People who are familiar with the previous Directive will appreciate the way the guide highlights changes from the old Directive. Approximately 5000 copies of the guide have already been distributed to machine builders, system integrators, manufacturers of partly-completed machines and safety components (as defined in the Directive), people modifying machinery, and machine specifiers and buyers. Orders have been received from around the world, as the new Machinery Directive has important implications for companies that supply machinery to the European Union and the additional EEA nations (ie Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). Switzerland and Turkey have also harmonised their laws with the new Machinery Directive.
