igus UK is showcasing its new high-performance tribo-polymer bearings, energy chains and cables at the Advanced Engineering Show, on stand G101. Visitors to the stand will be able to see live demonstrations of its maintenance-free products including new stock plates and e-spool cable management system. Visitors will also have the opportunity of meeting the polymer experts to learn how to optimise processes and reduce costs through innovative use of plastic components.
A main highlight on the stand is e-spool, a compact cable management system that has been designed in response to customer demand for a product that is more flexible than traditional cable drums. It enables users to guide many different cable and hose types, for example power, BUS, data and even fibre optics, in one single compact system.
Quick and easy to install, the e-spool is robust, providing cables reliably in any direction for travel up to 14m. Users can now benefit from a system that provides reliable operation for a wide range of lifting and moving applications.
Also on display are igus’ new stock plates which promise to increase design flexibility for engineers when customising special parts. As result of using the new iglidur J stock plates, designers can obtain machined parts such as wear plates and strips easily and cost effectively with less waste.
The new stock plates come in sheets rather than the standard round bars and are available in a variety of thicknesses from 2mm to 25mm. They are made from igus’ reliable iglidur J material which boasts low coefficients of friction in dry operation, low moisture absorption, wear and chemical resistance while requiring no maintenance. The stock plate material is also suitable for parts that need to withstand temperatures from -50degC to 120degC.
Experts from igus UK will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting energy chains, bearings and cabling assemblies for your own specific application.
