Nearly 750 exhibitors for Southern Manufacturing 2013
Organisers of Southern Manufacturing & Electronics report that the show is close to reaching a landmark 750 exhibitors for the 2013 event, which will be held on February 13th and 14th at FIVE, next to Farnborough Airport in Hampshire. The show's purpose-built venue has been enlarged once more to accommodate an influx of new exhibitors and now stands at an impressive 15,000 square metres - larger than three football pitches, or five halls of the NEC combined. Within this single venue, visitors can expect to meet a world-class list of companies representing branches of industry ranging from machinery to electronic components, production equipment, tooling, design and sub-contract manufacturing.
The show provides a comprehensive marketplace for machine builders, with many familiar names such as Igus UK, Hepco Motion, LG Motion and Fanuc providing a comprehensive selection of automation and motion products and systems. Two new faces for 2013 are Kawasaki Robotics and Kabelschlepp Metool. The show's Machinery Zone features live demonstrations from some of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors, such as Yamazaki Mazak, Amada, Haas Automation, Bruderer UK, Hurco, CMZ, XYZ Machine Tools, YMT Technologies and many others. New firms joining this year include Ward Hi-Tech, C Dugard Ltd and Salvagnini. The Electronics Pavilion features a broad array of components and production equipment from companies such as Anglia, Finder, Anixter Component Solutions, RS Components, Blundell Production Equipment. New names for 2013 include Amphenol, Blakell Europlacer, MYDATA Automation, Mouser Electronics and Coax Connectors.
In addition, the show is described as the pre-eminent marketplace for subcontracting and specialist engineering services of all descriptions. New exhibitors in the Electronics Pavilion include the Paragon Electronics Group, Daniel Josefsson, and May & Scofield. New companies joining the extensive roll-call of the UK's top precision engineering firms include Orbital Fabrications, Farsound Engineering, Muller England and many others. The show's Auto Aero zone provides a focus for firms specialising in precision engineering for the aerospace and autosport sector, represented by firms such as Aerotech Precision Manufacturing, PGT Ceewrite and TML Precision Engineering.
Free seminars
Along with the cream of UK manufacturing, the show's free technical seminar programme attracts hundreds of delegates every year. Running in two theatres over both days of the event, the seminar sessions cover a wide range of subjects, from technical issues to business management, marketing and regulatory developments. Presentations are given by experts, which, for 2013, includes companies such as the UK Atomic Energy Authority, TUV Rheinland, Bang Creations, ATOL Business Services, BobWillis.co.uk and many others.
Participation in the technical seminars, as well as entry to the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2013, is completely free.
