New company introduced at Drives & Controls
Since 2011, R. A. Rodriguez has been steadily adding automation products to its portfolio, and what a success story it has been. Sales have increased year on year as UK manufacturers seek to enhance their global competitiveness through automation. Indeed, consistent growth has now prompted the Letchworth-based company to strategically separate this division of its company.
As a result of this decision, all automation sales are now the responsibility of the newly formed RARUK Automation Limited, a company dedicated to developing a group of automation products with a distinctive edge.
Peter Williamson, MD of both R. A. Rodriguez (UK) Limited and RARUK Automation Limited explains: "The creation of a separate organisation allows us to tool up for the growing demands of automation in the UK, whilst not losing sight of our traditional strengths as a supplier of the highest quality transmission components. The move allows us to optimise the growth of both strands of our business."
At present, four product ranges dominate the RARUK Automation catalogue. The first is Universal Robot, collaborative robots that effectively launched R. A. Rodriguez into the field of stand-alone automation 5 years ago. Only recently, the company's position as a leading supplier of these robots in the UK was cemented by its appointment as Universal Robot's sole UK Preferred Supplier for 2016.
These robots are now complemented by the availability of Robotiq 2- and 3-finger grippers and force torque sensors that extend application scope.
R. A. Rodriguez has been involved with linear motion for more than 15 years through its representation of IEF Werner in the UK. The quality and reliability of this brand has made it a strong basis for the design and supply of application-specific automation systems.
This potential will be maximised within RARUK Automation as will that of the IEF Werner component palletising systems. Also under the wing of the new company is the MAFU range of products that comprise machines and equipment for pre-disentangling and feeding bulk goods.
Peter Williamson concludes: "With the new corporate structure, we can now better address the respective needs of our design and production engineering customers. It gives us the freedom to develop a framework that best supports both markets."
