New configurator software tool for customising switchgear
Eaton is launching a new software program that allows customers to conveniently select and configure Eaton's NZM or IZM circuit breakers or switch-disconnectors to their specific needs. The new "Circuit Breaker Configurator' software provides access to Eaton's database of several thousand MCCB ACB products and accessories for the simple design and construction of the switchgear. The software is suitable for the creation of switchgear used in industrial, power distribution, power generation, marine and offshore applications. The configurator software can be downloaded for free by visiting Eaton's website at bit.ly/EatonConfigurator.
The new software provides a user-friendly interface that guides individuals through the ordering process. Customised switchgear can be designed with either IEC or UL/CSA application standards and specified to the user's desired voltage and frequency. Users can also select the required protection task of the circuit breaker or switch-disconnector, including cable or line protection, motor protection in thermomagnetic or electronic configuration.
All permissible combinations are included in the new software, thereby reducing the danger of the switchgear being built and installed with specifications that do not meet the basic requirements for the application. In addition, the simple ordering system allows for the items selected to be transferred to a bill of materials or ordering list at the end of the process.
