New convection-cooled, single-output power supplies
Following on from the successful launch of the LS Series of convection-cooled, single-output power supplies, TDK-Lambda is adding the 25W and 35W models. The LS25 and LS35 have an input range of 88 to 264V AC (47 to 63Hz), and can withstand a 300V AC surge for at least five seconds.
While these general purpose units are well-suited to budget-conscious applications, they are claimed to be up to 4 per cent more efficient than similar products available on the market today. Overcurrent and overvoltage protection are standard features, as is a power-on signal. Furthermore, the efficient design of the LS Series achieves excellent thermal properties and thereby offers higher reliability.
Nominal output voltages range from 3.3 to 48V DC, delivering currents of up to 7A. To accommodate non-standard system voltages the LS Series is user adjustable by +/-10 per cent. Series operation is also possible. Offered with an extended operating temperature range, the LS Series provides full power from -25 to +50degC and can still deliver up to 60 per cent power at 70degC depending on the chosen model.
As well as being EN 55011, EN 55022 and FCC compliant (achieving class B conducted and radiated emissions), TDK-Lambda's LS25 and LS35 meet UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety approvals and carry the CE mark. All models meet EN 61000-4-2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -8, -11 harmonic correction standards. With an MTBF of over 600k hours, per MIL-HDBK-217F (25degC) standard, the LS Series comes with a three-year warranty.
