New drive surface protection catalogue from Nord
Nord Drivesytems is releasing a new brochure presenting the wide choice of surface protection treatments offered across its comprehensive range of geared motors and drive units. The 8-page information resource covers the latest generation high-solid paint and powder coat finishes as well as Nord's NSD tupH surface conversion treatment which provides stainless steel-like durability advantages for aluminium gear unit and geared motor frames.
The range of high-solid paint finishes have been successfully tested to relevant ISO standards for adhesion, corrosion resistance and delamination. A wide choice of 2-pack primer and top coat components in various coat thicknesses ensures cost-efficient surface protection for indoor, outdoor and corrosive environment installations. Antimicrobial lacquer coatings for food industry and other environmentally sensitive areas are available for all paint systems.
Nord standard and preferred paint colours are available with stock gear motor offerings for almost immediate delivery using its network of assembly and service facilities, which include paint shops, in 35 of the most important industrialised countries. Special colours (RAL, BS, Pantone etc.), can be supplied in just a few working days.
Nord Drivesystems introduced its NSD tupH sealed surface conversion system earlier in 2012. NSD tupH - pronounced tough - employs a catalytic process that permanently bonds a high-hardness layer to an aluminium substrate. The durable finish requires no further treatment, is colourless, and highly resistant to aggressive cleaning chemicals and extreme environments - even under high pressure washdown conditions. With weight-saving advantages when compared with stainless steel and with a 6- to 7-fold increase in surface hardness when compared with aluminium, NSD tupH finished units can be combined with stainless steel shafts, special sealing components, and special lubrication for food & beverage, pharmaceutical, marine and many more harsh environment or high-hygiene areas.
