New eight-channel analogue input modules are just 12mm wide

WAGO's two-wire analogue input modules significantly reduce cabinet space requirements by packing eight channels into a housing just 12mm wide, thereby reducing the number of modules required per node.

The modules have a high measurement accuracy and resolution. The three new analogue input modules excel at quickly and accurately transmitting the measured values (eg temperature, pressure or flow) as digital variables to the controller. They can be calibrated quickly and easily using WAGO-I/O-CHECK software or via fieldbus description files, so programmers can adjust parameters to suit the application and operating conditions.

8-channel analogue input module 0-10V and +/-10V

Eight voltage inputs enable the 750-497 module to record standard input signals for the 0-10V and +/-10V measurement ranges, while two-wire sensors can be connected directly to the inputs. The measurement range can also be expanded to 0-11V and +/-11V if required. Each of the channels can be configured individually, enabling extensive diagnostics for the application.

8-channel analogue input module 0-20mA and 4-20mA

The eight current input channels of the 750-496 module enable standardised signals to be recorded for 0-20mA and 4-20mA, as well as the 3.6-21mA ranges per NAMUR specification. The measurement ranges are individually adjustable to suit application requirements. Power is provided by the analogue input terminal for each channel, which eliminates the need for an external power supply connection for two-wire sensors (loop powered).

8-channel thermocouple module

The 750-458 8-channel thermocouple module connects standard thermocouples (including type K, J and B) to offer mV measurement and extensive diagnostic capabilities. These settings and additional application thresholds are individually configurable for each channel. For the required temperature reference of the thermocouples, internal cold junction compensation is included with the thermocouple module to offset the clamping unit voltage. This module is suitable for the majority of industrial applications that require temperature measurement, such as kilns or electric arc furnaces in the steel industry.

Existing 8-channel input modules

These new additions complement the recently launched 8-Channel PTC digital input module for connecting to PTC thermistors, as well as configurable 8-channel analogue input modules for two-wire resistance (RTD) sensors. The PTC Digital Input Module (750-1425) comes with eight channels for connecting up to six PTC thermistors in series per channel. Use this PTC Digital Input Module to connect up to 48 PTC thermistors according to DIN 44081 and DIN 44082 for thermal monitoring - such as for overload protection of motors.

Product advantages

The modules fit into the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 automation platform and are compatible with all of the latest WAGO fieldbus couplers and controllers. Spring pressure connection technology ensures that wire terminations in all modules are robust, easy to connect and free from maintenance, thereby reducing installation time while improving reliability. The modules are compliant to EN 61000-6-2 immunity and EN 61000-6-3 emission standards.

Communication between fieldbus couplers/controllers and the I/O modules is carried out via the internal bus. All inputs can be configured individually via software such as WAGO-I/O-CHECK and fieldbus device description files. This Windows-based application allows users to operate and represent nodes from the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 without the need to connect the node to a fieldbus system. This allows channels to be tuned to the needs of a particular application, and streamlines the development process, saving time and money.
