Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough, on 10-12 February 2015. Next year's event will see some significant changes and improvements, including moving to a 3-day format for the first time in its 20-year history.
Following the disruption to the 2014 event caused by the exceptional weather conditions, the organiser, European Trade & Exhibition Services (ETES), has been engaged in lengthy negotiations with the show's insurers. Having now successfully concluded these negotiations, ETES has announced that the monies it has received for its claim are to be used in their entirety as a goodwill gesture. Consequently all 2014 exhibitors rebooking for 2015 will receive a credit note equal to 20 per cent of their 2014 stand cost.
Show Director, Phil Valentine, says: "The storms of 2014 were unprecedented in the show's long history. It goes without saying that no one regrets the disruption caused by the early closure of the show on the first day more than us. We would like to apologise for the length of time it has taken to resolve the matter. However, I am delighted to be able to announce this goodwill gesture, which we hope will go some way to showing our appreciation for the patience and support we have received from our valued exhibitors."
Changes to the format of the show include moving to a 3-day event, which is designed to ease the traffic burden on roads in and out of the site and improve access for those visiting by car. The 2015 show will feature a different internal layout, designed to improve visitor flow around the venue, together with a number of other improvements including an increase in the number of event stewards on duty.
