Lambda's new LS Series of convection-cooled single-output power supplies is available in 50, 75, 100 and 150W models. These general-purpose units are suitable for budget-conscious applications, but feature an efficient design that achieves excellent thermal properties and offers high reliability.
The LS50, LS75 and LS100 operate from an 88-264V AC input, while the LS150 models are switch-selectable for 115 or 230V AC, thus minimising cost. All LS units withstand a 300V AC surge for 5s minimum.
Standard output voltages range from 3.3-48V DC, delivering currents up to 30A. To accommodate non-standard system voltages, the LS Series is user-adjustable by +/-10 per cent. Models within the LS Series are claimed to be up to 4 per cent more efficient than similar products available on the market. The 50W LS50-24 model, for instance, achieves a typical efficiency of 86 per cent.
Offered with an extended operating temperature range, the LS Series provides full power from -25 to +50degC and can still deliver up to 70 per cent power at 70degC, depending on the chosen model. Overcurrent and overvoltage protection are standard features, as is a 'power on' signal.
As well as being EN 55011/EN 55022- and FCC-compliant (achieving class B conducted and radiated emissions), Lambda's new series meets UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety approvals and carries the CE mark. All models meet EN 61000-3-2, 3 harmonic correction standards. With a MTBF of over 600,000 hours as per the MIL-HDBK-217F (25degC) standard, Lambda's LS Series comes with a three-year warranty.
