New Omron Europe CEO will "deliver next-generation technology"

Mr Usui joins Omron Europe after running the global Machine Control Department in one of Omron's Industrial Automation Business Divisions, a position in which he worked with Omron colleagues and customers all over the world. At the first meeting with his new management team, he said he would use this experience, combined with his passion for technology, business management and people with ideas, in his leadership of Omron Europe. He would do so to fulfil one important objective: to give European customers access to all of Omron's global resources.

Mr Usui explains: "It is vitally important that we accelerate the process of bringing next-generation technology into the European market. The launch last year of the Sysmac platform was the first fruits of our VG2020 - Value Generation 2020 - strategy. My aim is to build on the success of this launch to bring future-proof equipment and systems within reach of all our customers."

As well as bringing next-generation technology to European customers, Mr Usui said that he wants to shape the Omron Europe organisation in such a way that European customers can benefit from the undoubted leadership and proven infrastructure that Omron has in Asian countries such as China, India and Japan. He says: "I am pretty sure our decades of experience, know-how and our deep understanding of the culture, can benefit machine builders who have Asia as their strategic route for growth.

"These are exciting and challenging times. Omron is in good shape, and we are now leaner and keener than ever before. We are here to build on these solid foundations as a world-leader and global pace-setter for automation and control."
