The new fan less Kontron NotePAC is equipped with the new State-of-the-art 1.66GHz Intel CoreTM Duo T2300 processor with a FSB of 667MHz for high-performance and battery saving mobile applications, includes the Intel 945GM chipset and offers up to 2 GB DDR-RAM. Wireless communication over UMTS, GSM, GPRS, GPS, WLAN, BlueTooth together with 2x PCMCIA (cardbus) slots and long battery operation time with up to 3 batteries guarantee a maximum autonomy in the field. Standard wired interfaces are 2x USB 2.0, GBit Ethernet, Firewire, COM, LPT and VGA. Mass storage is provided by a removable ruggedized SATA drive mounted in a shock absorbing, sealed cartridge. With the hard disk heater operating temperatures down to -20°C are guaranteed. Two module bays for interfaces, drives or batteries allow perfect tailoring to the application. For measurement and communication applications requiring additional specialized add-on cards an optional expansion unit is available for two PCIe, PCI or ISA cards.

The ultra-rugged Kontron NotePAC combines a high-strength magnesium case with shock mounted rugged components to withstand a 3 food-drop. For example, Kontron NotePAC can operate continuously in high vibration environments, such as off-road vehicles. The rugged docking station enables ideally in-vehicle applications. To prove conformance to all design goals for shock and vibrations the modular rugged notebook is certified by MIL-STD 810F and IEC 529. IP54 and NEMA 12 rated, the Kontron NotePAC can operate in the rain, blowing dust and dirt. Intelligent details like fully sealed keyboard (optional backlight) and individual port closures make the system ideal for out door usage. For the most extreme environments an ATEX explosion proof and a MIL-STD-461 EMC upgrade is available. A TPM (Trust Platform Module) security chip together with the biometric fingerprint reader provides in addition numerous powerful functionalities for storage security, access authorisation and integrity measurement.

The Kontron NotePAC provides cutting-edge technology with its 12.1" or 14.1" Sunlight-Readable LCD, which is designed to operate under bright ambient lighting conditions.

Rugged and versatile, the Kontron NotePAC supports Windows XP, is available from January 2007 and can also be tailored to meet customers' specific application needs.
