Thank you for opening this newsletter, I hope you find it useful and interesting.

Have you heard of GDPR? This is the European General Data Protection Regulation and the new rules come into force on 25 May this year. The rules will almost certainly affect you in one way or another. If you hold personal details about suppliers, customers or business acquaintances - such as email addresses or telephone numbers - then you will probably have to take steps to ensure you comply. The rules have implications for the way in which you collect, store and use such data. Interestingly, whereas the UK's previous Data Protection Act (and similar legislation in other countries) related to data held digitally, the new rules cover all data, including card indexes and business cards.

To comply with the new rules, we will shortly send you an email asking you to re-register so you can continue to receive this newsletter - and it is imperative that you do so, otherwise we will stop sending you the newsletter after 25 May. Please wait until we email you about this, don't re-register yet.

If you want to find out more about GDPR and how it affects you and your business, scroll down to the item about the seminar being organised by the BFPA.
