Reliance is promoting its nylon tip stainless steel grub screws, suitable for use in applications where high torque is required without sustaining damage to the adjoining surface. Marks or scuffs often occur as the screw makes rotational contact, but this problem is virtually eliminated by the full face contact of the nylon tip. An additional benefit is that the resilient, hardwearing insert will compress securely into thread diameters, producing a self-locking and robust fixing that will not damage the threads. The highly durable nylon interface also acts as an excellent heat and electrical insulator.
