Stemmer Imaging's first UK Open Day proved to be a resounding success, with around 120 guests spending a very enjoyable day at its UK headquarters. A stimulating seminar programme provided 40 presentations delivered across eight sessions throughout the day, with a choice of five tracks in each session. This was backed by a vision components and systems exhibition featuring 20 of the world's leading manufacturers.
Mark Williamson, Director for Corporate Development at Stemmer Imaging, says: "It was great to meet with so many machine vision professionals and show the enhanced capability we have to offer in our newly renovated and expanded facility. The event was held in an informal and relaxed atmosphere, yet delivered real value to those who attended. The wide range of presentations on offer meant that visitors could tailor their day to their particular interests. There was the added bonus that many of the products or techniques discussed during the presentations were on show at the exhibition, so people had a chance to follow up the seminars with a live demonstration and detailed discussions with experts."
Seminar subjects ranged from machine vision basics delivered by the European Imaging Academy, to algorithm master classes delivered by developers, ensuring that there was plenty to interest beginners and experienced vision users alike. With 20 companies exhibiting during the day, the event was probably the largest event dedicated to imaging and machine vision to be held in the UK during 2012.
Williamson concludes: "We were absolutely delighted with the attendance levels. In fact, we had to close registration before the event as we had reached our capacity for the venue. The feedback from attendees was fantastic and the fact that very few people left before the end of the day was a very good indication of just how well-received the event was."
