LMT hygienic point level sensor stays clean for reliable sensingifm electronic is introducing the LMT hygienic point level sensor that operates reliably, even in the presence of foam and deposits, to provide 'full' or 'empty' signals for tanks and to provide run-dry protection of pumps.

With no moving parts and a smooth surface (the surface characteristics of the PEEK tip of the sensor is Ra < 0.8um) it is said to be virtually impossible for residues to stick to it or clog the sensor. Even with viscous and sticky media such as ketchup, the LMT point level sensor is claimed to operate reliably.

Factory setting to one of two road categories of fluid types eliminates the need for local adjustment; the correct version is selected from an extensive list of fluids.

Using high-quality materials such as 316L stainless steel and PEEK, the sensor meets all requirements for use in hygienic areas. Flush sealing is ensured by pressing the PEEK tip onto the sealing edge of the adapter; this avoids dead bands and contamination. Approvals such as EHEDG and 3A certify the food conformity.

LMT sensors operates on a DC supply 18-36V, are sealed to IP69K and have an operating temperature range of -25 to 80degC. Electrical connections are made using industry-standard M12 connectors to take the complementary open and closed PNP signals back to the panel.
