Brushless DC motor with integrated control and electronicsDunkermotoren's new BG 95 CI is the latest addition to the company's BG rotary brushless motor series. This motor provides an output power of over 1kW in an ultra-compact housing that incorporates all the power and control electronics. It features an integrated CANopen interface for easy integration into a CANopen network and this, along with voltage variants from 24 up to 60V DC, makes it well suited to a wide range of applications.

The BG 95 CI provides the benefits of a permanent output of 1100W along with sophisticated algorithms that calculate the temperature of the windings and the semiconductors in advance. This means that the drive can be temporarily overloaded by up to three times its continuous power, without the risk of damage.

The integrated CANopen interface provides the benefits of compatibility with DS402 (ref IEC 61800-7) and user-friendly, quick-start instructions. To enable easy installation the motor is equipped with a standard flange and shaft according to EN 50347 and a robust plug. CAN IN and CAN OUT connectors are separate, which eliminates the need for an additional external T-piece.

Thanks to its robust design and voltage variants, the BG 95 CI is suitable for not only battery-operated applications but it also offers an alternative drive option in situations where hydraulics are currently used. It can be used with planetary and worm gearboxes, as well as encoders and brakes. An IP65 weather-proofed version is also available on request.

The motor is available in two compact sizes of 95x40mm and 95x80mm (length x width) and represents an important addition to the existing range of Dunkermotoren motors with its increased power output. It therefore provides an effective drive for a range of applications including industrial automation, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) for logistics, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), solar applications and medical engineering.
