Parker Hannifin has signed a co-operation agreement with Farid, a major manufacturer of waste collection and recycling vehicles and equipment. The agreement concerns Parker's advanced hydraulic pumps and power takeoff systems (PTO), backed by two-year or 5000 operating hours' extended warranties for specified and tested applications.
Farid has six production sites located in the UK, Italy and Venezuela, employing over 750 people. The company has a reputation for manufacturing products and vehicles with outstanding performance, reliability and safety. Key to this achievement is its focus on partnering with its principal suppliers to ensure that components and support services meet the highest possible standards of quality.
The agreement between Parker and Farid establishes the basis for long-term co-operation and has been entered into only after extensive tests were carried out on Parker components fitted to different types of vehicle. These tests were designed to prove the efficiency and reliability of hydraulic pumps and PTO units under real-life operating conditions.
Adrian Foster, Parker's UK Marketing Manager, comments: "We are delighted with the partnership agreement with Farid. As a leading manufacturer of waste collection and recycling vehicles they share our commitment to quality and our determination to optimise vehicle performance while simultaneously reducing emissions and energy consumption. Together, we believe that we can achieve these goals and deliver an even better production to Farid's customers around the world."
Kevin Crowder, Farid's Sales and Marketing Director, adds: "Parker Hannifin stood out from the competition by offering a unique combination of product technology, plus comprehensive validation procedures, and an undertaking to meet specific commercial targets. Their commitment to excellence is fully in keeping with our own strategic objectives, so we look forward to a successful and long term collaboration."
