Parker Hannifin is announcing that the AC30 series of drives has achieved DNV marine certification. The certification reflects the ability of AC30 to operate reliably and safely in even the most extreme of environments, including marine and offshore. Available in the power range 0.75kW to 75kW, the certified AC30 can be specified in a wide range of applications including towing winches, cranes, hoists, compressors, propulsion and steering.
Described as the only drive on the market offering environmental protection to class 3C3 and 3C4 (H2S), the AC30 features EMC filters and integral DC line chokes to ensure performance and reliability. The feature-rich AC30, a modular and capable drive for control of AC induction or permanent magnet (PMAC) motors in both open- and closed-loop applications, is well suited to the demanding applications of the marine industry.
AC30 frames comply with DNV rules for classification of ships and high speed/light craft in as well as DNV offshore standards under type approval E-13861. Featuring an operating temperature range of 0 to +50degC, the AC30 also benefits from a built in safe torque-off feature as standard.
With On-board Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP provided as standard, flexibility and high modularity ensures that a wide range of communications protocols can be added as required, such as Profinet, Profibus and EtherCAT as well as I/O modules.
