Yamaichi is introducing the Y-ConJack-31, a new RJ45 connector jack for PCB mounting with an integrated magnetic filter and LED light pipes status indication. The jack is particularly suited to industrial applications such as industrial Ethernet.
According to the company, the integrated magnetic filter module makes a significant contribution to the signal conditioning, thanks to the galvanic separation (potential separation) and the additional components. Overlayed disruptions are thereby effectively separated or faded out by the wanted signal. This is beneficial because current peaks, high-frequency overlays or 'electro smog' can lead to malfunctions in the applications, particularly in industrial environments.
The 90-degree angled jack is also fitted with an all-round optimised EMC shielding made of nickel-plated brass.
Two integrated light pipes either side of the mating face lead the light forwards onto each of the LED light sources mounted onto the PCB, hence emitting a status or function signal. The colour selection is dependent only on the LED used, hence making the jack very flexible for all applications.
As with other versions of the Y-ConRJ45 plugs and jacks, the Y-ConJack-31 is fitted with data contacts and two additional power contacts. A major advantage of the Y-Con RJ45 series, these additional power contacts are universally integrated into all components. This makes costly double-wiring superfluous for electrical supplies, which would have to be protected especially for raw field applications. That would mean double the amount of work and expense.
Y-ConRJ45 series RoHS-compliant connectors can also be sealed to IP69K, IP68, IP67 and IP20. Reliable protective housings are manufactured from high-quality materials such as PBT or zinc die-castings.
