PULS is launching the PISA protection module that enables PLCs or other critical equipment to be connected directly to one 24V power supply and, at the same time, protect up to four other associated circuits. In the event of one or more of these circuits becoming overloaded, the PISA module interrupts the current to prevent the output voltage to the PLC being adversely affected. Each output channel is fitted with an internal fuse conforming to UL248 and meeting the requirements of Branch Circuit Protection UL508A section 31.1.2.
PISA units also serve as diagnostic tools by identifying which circuit has failed, simplifying fault-finding and reducing downtime.
PISA modules give operators the opportunity to connect devices according to their power requirements via four current-monitored output channels. Outputs ranging from 3-10A are available enabling wires of a smaller cross-section to be used where appropriate, thereby saving costs.
PULS UK's Managing Director, Harry Moore, comments: "The PISA module offers customers a number of advantages both in terms of protecting vital circuits from failure and saving costs by allowing cabling to be used more intelligently. Alongside that, PISA's ability to pin-point an overloaded circuit is a valuable tool for assisting fault diagnosis in the working environment where time is money."
