Tyco Electronics is now offering power PCB relays suitable for THR (through-hole reflow) soldering processes. Using innovative constructions featuring new plastic materials, the RYII series, RT1 series and RT2 series power PCB relays are able to withstand the high temperatures (up to +265degC) found in reflow-soldering processes and meet modern requirements for insulation and switching capacity.
RYII series relays feature one pole with 8A rated current and one CO, one NO or one NC contact. The devices benefit from a low height of only 12.3mm, reinforced insulation (protection class II) and a 5kV/8mm coil contact. Pinnings are 3.2mm and 5mm. The relays are suitable for applications such as heating control, interface technology, domestic appliances, timers and temperature control.
RT1 series relays feature one CO or one NO contact with 12A or 16A rated current. The components are available with either an AC coil (+70degC ambient temperature) or a sensitive DC coil (400mW coil power, +85degC ambient temperature). All versions benefit from a 5kV/10mm coil contact and reinforced insulation. Target applications are industrial control, timers, garage door control, POS automation and interface modules.
RT2 series relays feature two poles with 8A rated current in a CO or NO contact configuration. The devices are available with either an AC coil (+70degC ambient temperature) or a sensitive DC coil (400mW coil power, +85degC ambient temperature). All components benefit from a 5kV/10mm coil contact and reinforced insulation. Target applications are domestic appliances, heating control, emergency lighting and modems.
Both RT1 and RT2 series relays can be used for forced convection and vapour-phase soldering.
