Precision force transducer features S-type geometry

HBM has developed the S2M force transducer to provide high-precision measurement of compressive and tensile forces in conjunction with strain gauges. The transducer features S-type geometry that achieves very accurate results while ensuring that measurement errors resulting from the application of non-axial forces remains low.

An accuracy class 0.02 has been achieved setting a new standard for this class of force transducers. Temperature differences also have hardly any effect on the measurement results. The S2M is available with maximum capacities ranging from 10N to 1kN.

Strain gauges installed on the measuring body are made of aluminium and hermetically sealed with plastic potting to ensure IP67 degree of protection. This means that the transducer can also be used under difficult ambient conditions. The integrated mechanical protection provides an overload capacity of 1000 per cent.

The S2M force transducer is suitable for a variety of applications with typical applications in test benches and testing machines along with production monitoring and in OEM applications. For more information, go to www.hbm.com/.
