Laidler Associates will be leading and sponsoring the new Plant and Machinery Safety Zone at the Health and Safety '10 - North event, which takes place at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, on 13/14 October 2010.
In the Plant and Machinery Safety Zone Laidler Associates, which specialises in machinery safety legislation and risk assessments, will give a presentation on Practical machinery safety including guarding issues. By using its virtual reality system to recreate a typical working environment, Laidler is able to bring to life the problems that are present and demonstrate how to provide safety in this area.
Focusing on the practical nature of the zone, Laidler will also demonstrate how to complete and document a PUWER 98 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) assessment or CE Mark a machine to the Machinery and Low-Voltage Directives. The presentation will also cover the requirements of the new Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC in this regard.
Laidler Associates is also exhibiting at the event on stand number 218. Sharing the stand is partner company, Safety Systems Technology, a machinery safety design and installation specialist. It can provide a range of engineering services, from design studies through to full turnkey projects. And, as an independent company, it is not tied to any single safety product vendor, enabling it to design and install a best-of-breed safety system.
