Pressure measurement gauges capture transients

These pressure measurement gauges consist of a measuring grid made of manganin in which changes in pressure cause changes in the resistivity of the grid. The PMS gauges have a very small mass and are very suitable for highly-dynamic measurement of pressure surges in liquids. Other typical applications include ultrasonic work and the analysis of explosive shockwaves.

Conventional pressure sensors are often larger and cannot usually respond rapidly to very fast and large pressure changes.
