Stäubli is adding a new coupling to its RMI range of connectors, the RMI37, with 37mm diameter nominal bore, specifically designed for manifold connections on injection moulding machines.
RMI couplings are suitable for many applications where quick and easy connection of fluid lines is required. Temperature control circuits on plastic injection moulds are typical applications. The larger flow diameter of the new RMI37 makes it well suited for use on manifold connections.
The RMI37 introduces some new technology into the Stäubli range. Safe, quick, automatic connection is secured by a new locking mechanism that is stronger than the traditional ball system and provides contact over a larger area. This patented system makes connecting very much easier and more secure.
Designed for a maximum working pressure of 16bar, the long profile of the plug ensures a totally leak-free connection and the double shut-off valve design provides an optimum flow with minimum pressure drop. The connector is available with a wide choice of end fittings and with fluorocarbon, ethylene-propylene or nitrile seals extending the designed working temperature range to -20 to +200degC.
The new RMI37 is part of the growing range of temperature control couplings available from Staubli. The full RMI range includes models with nominal bores of 6, 9, 12, 16, 20, 25 and now 37mm diameter, capable of providing quick and easy connection on hot and cold water circuits, water glycol circuits, as well as for other heat transfer fluids.
