How technology can help to deliver secure management of safety
When it comes to the control of access rights and the selection of operating modes, safety technology can enable both to ensure secure management of safety, whatever mode your machine is running in, states Pilz.
“Want to safely authenticate and switch between modes, such as automatic, adjustment, manual override (with or without restrictive control) or service?” the company asks. By way of demonstrating how RFID technology can help to ensure this happens, Pilz is inviting you to tune into a webinar it is hosting this Friday (October 29) from 9:30-10:30 am. You can also visit Pilz at the UK's dedicated Robotics & Automation event, which runs from 2-3 November 2021 at the Coventry Building Society Arena. “There are no safe robots, only safe robot applications,” cautions Pilz. “With this in mind, we will be showcasing tailor-made solutions and services to meet the key requirements of robot safety standards, such as EN ISO 10218-2 and ISO/TS 15066, at Robotics & Automation 2021.
"The show gives attendees the chance to discover how the latest robotics, automation and future technologies can improve efficiency, reduce costs and gain them the competitive advantage.”

Finally, in the Robotics and Automation Conference Theatre at the show, Pilz will be presenting 'How to Make a Robot Application Safe' as part of the overall seminar programme. During the session, Pilz UK product manager Jamie Thomas will be looking at the basic aspects of robot safety, with an emphasis on human-robot-collaboration (HRC).
Particular focus will be given to key requirements of standards such as EN ISO 10218-2 and ISO/TS 15066, finishing with an overview of risk assessments and safeguarding of robots and robot systems
