For over 40 years, R.A. Rodriguez has supplied high-quality transmission components to the defence and aerospace sectors. From desert warfare to space exploration, its Kaydon bearings are proven for critical applications. Indeed Kaydon itself has been solving tough engineering problems in these fields since 1941 and has now become a global leader in slewing ring and thin-section bearings.
Central to the R.A. Rodriguez Kaydon product programme is the Reali-Slim range of low-profile bearings for applications where space is at a premium and weight needs to be minimised. These bearings are available in both Imperial and metric sizes and in different radial sections up to 1m diameter from stock - and larger sizes are available to order.
Turntable bearings are an R.A. Rodriguez speciality and at DSEi full details on the new Kaydon HS Series will be available. These products offer exceptional load and thrust ratings with significant space savings. They are designed for efficient four-point contact with a rectangular cross-section, deep-groove Gothic arch raceways and maximum ball complement.
Branded bearings
As well as the Kaydon range, R.A. Rodriguez also offers the Rodriguez own-brand turntable bearings that are manufactured at its factory in Germany. Two basic versions are available, the KDL series for light applications where high accuracy is not a pre-requisite, and the KDM series that provides enhanced performance for greater loads. Both are manufactured in high-grade carbon steel or stainless steel and are shipped pre-lubricated and ready for use.
Considerable capital investment in the Rodriguez GmbH factory near Aachen in Germany has resulted in the company becoming one of Europe's leading suppliers of bearings. In addition to turntable bearings, it also produces a range of transmission components including linear guideways, bearing housings, ball screws and acme screws.
Since its last appearance at DSEi, RA Rodriguez has enhanced its position as a supplier of stock gears to the UK market. Although it has represented the Japanese manufacturer KHK for several years, the company has only recently been appointed the KHK European master distributor. This adds value to the company's offering to the defence and aerospace industries by ensuring greater availability of the 9000 stock items in the catalogue range, and greater flexibility through KHK's gear modification service.
