Single-axis tilt alert switch for slope indication

Variohm EuroSensor is expanding its range of inclinometers with the new IS-120 single-axis tilt alert switch for simple yet effective slope indication - where in-range and out-of-range inclination or level position needs to be safely monitored. The reliable reed switch technology switch with SPST (Form A) action is designed for vertical axis installation, operating a contact closure at <-10 degrees, with contact release at <+10 degrees.

Aimed at heavy duty applications, the fully sealed IS-120 has an IP65 rating and is built to withstand the high levels of shock and vibration that may be found in off-road automotive or heavy industrial equipment, but the reliable and low-cost switch is equally suited to lighter duty use. Existing applications include safe level position monitoring for truck bonnets, robot arms and storage vessel closures, where its mercury-free construction suits contamination-safe installation.

The IS-120 operates from a 48V DC supply with a 0.5A rated switching current. The compact unit measures approximately 42 × 15 × 28mm with simple 2-hole mounting and lead wire connection. Its operation temperature range is -40degC to +125degC.
