Following the success of its original PRT slewing rings with self-lubricating, low-friction bearing pads, Igus is launching a new version that features a simplified design that makes it more compact, lighter, and even less expensive.
The new ready-to-use and simple-to-mount PRT slewing rings make greater use of iglidur J self-lubricating, low-friction polymer. Counter running surfaces are manufactured from hard-anodised aluminium and the other material used is stainless steel. If required, an FDA-compliant version is available with components manufactured from approved materials.
According to Igus, the slewing rings are suitable for applications where a rugged, corrosion-resistant bearing is needed, where extreme overturning torques might be encountered, and for low to medium surface speeds.
