Matrox Imaging is adding a higher-resolution sensor to its line of Matrox Iris GT smart cameras. Fabio Perelli, Product Manager at Matrox Imaging, comments: "Many applications require higher resolution to acquire the entire area of interest in a single image - yet maintain the resolving power needed to perform necessary tasks such as reading multiple 2D codes." The sensor on the Matrox Iris GT1900 is a 1600 x 1200 @ 15fps 1/1.8inch monochrome CCD.
Powered by an Intel 1.6GHz Atom processor, the Matrox Iris GT runs Windows CE 6.0 and features an integrated graphics controller with VGA output, 256MB DDR2 memory and 1GB of flash disk. Like other sensor configurations, the Matrox Iris GT1900 is housed in a sturdy, dust-proof and washable IP67-rated casing.
The Matrox Iris GT is available either with the Matrox Design Assistant interactive development environment (bundled with each unit) or with the Matrox Imaging Library (MIL), which is sold separately.
Available now, the Matrox Iris GT with Design Assistant costs from $4995 US (EUR3845) for OEMs wanting single units.
