SMC aims to improve packaging performance at Interpack 2014

SMC is hoping to pack in the crowds at Interpack 2014 expo with its diverse range of products for original equipment manufacturers and end users. The exhibition, in Dusseldorf, Germany from 8-14 May, is the world's leading trade fair for the packaging industry and all related process technologies. From its stand 12A22 in Hall 12, SMC will focus on safety, energy saving and air quality technologies.

SMC aims to improve packaging performance at Interpack 2014

SMC's Interpack exhibition co-ordinator, Torsten Klein says: "Interpack is the largest trade fair of its kind so we are happy to have the opportunity to display our range of innovative solutions here again. SMC is a trusted supplier to the packaging industry worldwide and we can ensure availability when our customers need it thanks to manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Europe. At Interpack we will have a wide range of our very latest ionisers and temperature control devices on display as well as solutions to challenges commonly found in packaging processes, all of which comply with Machinery Directive legislation."

Creating "shock-waves' on the stand in terms of safety will be a trio of new ionisers, that help to quickly and effectively identify and control static electricity; the IZS41 has an optional feedback sensor, the standard IZS40 features an easy on/off operation and the IZS42 dual AC design minimises electrostatic build-up on workpieces.

Also displaying their safety functionality will be SMC's 3/2 port valve series. The VP544-X538 and VP744-X538 are designed to be used in the category 4 functional safety systems of ISO 13849. These valves feature an integrated valve spool monitoring system that enables the spool slider position to be detected and confirmed.

Keeping its cool will be the new, energy saving HRS thermo-chiller series. With a lightweight, space saving design, the HRS offers temperature control accuracy of +/-0.1degC and the heat function utilises the overall heat loss, so electrical heating is not required.

Also on show will be SMC's Automatic Leak Detection System (ALDS), which detects air leakages as and when they occur. The device confirms the exact value of the leak in l/m, providing maintenance personnel with a detailed report on where the leakages are located without the need to detect individual components.

Visitors to SMC's stand 12A22 in Hall 12 at Interpack 2014 can meet a team of multinational and multilingual experts who will be on-hand to answer questions. To celebrate the company's Japanese roots, SMC will be serving up a "Flying Buffet' and Japanese beer on Tuesday 13 May from 5pm, to refresh tired delegates.
