Phoenix Contact is launching the Safe AI solution package that processes safety-related analogue values. With this TÜV-certified, software-based safety system, safety-related analogue I/O modules are no longer required. The package also includes a consultation service provided by Phoenix Contact's safety experts.
Phoenix Contact has been active in the field of functional safety for many years and offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services for this area. With the Safe AI solution package, Phoenix Contact says that an automation product for Profinet applications is available for the first time that can process physical measured values in a safety-related way in the standardised range of 4-20mA. This is based on standard sensors. As such, safe analogue input modules are not required, since the safe processing of signals is performed by the software alone.
The package is TÜV-certified, which enables machine builders to implement safety functions up to SIL 3 and PL e. As such, users can even protect against considerable risk potential. The package also includes expert advice for functional safety from Phoenix Contact.
