The Spyder3 GigE, which is now available from Firstsight Vision, is described as a revolutionary new linescan camera from DALSA that uses the Gigabit Ethernet data transmission protocol to transfer image data directly to a host PC. This means that a frame grabber is no longer required, thereby offering significant system cost savings.
The Spyder3 GigE surpasses its predecessor, the Spyder2, with three times better response. At its core is DALSA's latest line scan technology that is claimed to achieve unprecedented responsivity and throughput rates of 80MHz.
The Spyder3 GigE is fully programmable, offering precise control over key performance variables such as gain and offset. A GUI is provided, allowing users to begin imaging in minutes. For those OEMs migrating from the Spyder or Spyder2, the Spyder3 GigE does not require a new optics design because both pixel size and fill factor remain unchanged at 14um and 100 per cent, respectively.
In addition to its high performance and affordability, the Spyder3 GigE also incorporates advanced features such as flat field correction and CDS (Correlated Double Sampling).
