EMKA is promoting its stainless steel locks and hinges - along with suitable gasket sealing profiles - for specialist stainless steel enclosures or for GRP and lightly finished steel housings where there is a need for high resistance to corrosion and/or the strength of stainless steel.
The EMKA modular design approach provides panel builders with a selection of quarter-turn locks and latches protected to IP65, including many with a compression function for enhanced sealing and resistance to vibration. Indeed, the compression hygiene latch takes this a stage further with an exceptionally clean design that has no crevices in which dirt can collect between cleaning cycles.
A typical matching hinge selection is likely to come from the EMKA 1056 and 1079 programme of screw-on/lift-off hinges. The 1079, for example, features chamfered ends for simple cleaning such as in the food processing industry. The 1046 series is suitable for flush doors and is concealed within the cabinet for added protection in wash-down areas.
With locks and hinges in place, a stainless steel enclosure still needs a suitable means of sealing, which EMKA provides with its 1011-06 gasket in EPDM, incorporating a self-grip feature to suit the double-flange construction often used for greater rigidity on stainless steel enclosures.
