Stemmer Imaging are showing their high-speed data transfer USB 3.0 uEye CP camera from IDS for the first time at the Midlands Design & Manufacturing exhibition. This is part of a multifunctional camera display that includes 2D and 3D smart cameras, and area scan and linescan cameras for 1D barcode, 2D matrix and character reading and verification applications.
Extremely compact (29 × 29 × 29mm), the uEye CP colour camera benefits from high-speed data transfer rates of 400MB per second, thanks to the new USB 3.0 interface, making the camera suited to a range of data-rich applications. This is a tenfold increase in data transfer rate compared with USB 2.0, and around four times the speed of the GigE interface. Data transmission distances of more than 10m can be achieved using standard industrial cables.
The growing importance of 3D vision measurements in manufacturing industry is illustrated through a demonstration of the Gocator 3D smart camera from LMI Technologies Inc. making measurements on a wheel. Now featuring whole-part feature measurement capabilities, Gocator can perform volumetric measurements and is available in high-resolution models for increased accuracy and detailed inspections.
A selection of BOA 2D smart cameras from Teledyne DALSA are also on show, including the BOA IDR version for code and pattern reading applications and the BOA Pro version, featuring the powerful Sherlock software for a wide variety of automated inspection applications. Sherlock software will also be demonstrated in conjunction with linescan cameras for high resolution label inspection.
Stemmer Imaging will be on Stand 1540 at the Midlands Design & Manufacturing Exhibition, NEC, UK, 23-24 May, 2012. To find out more about the high-speed data transfer USB 3.0 uEye CP camera from IDS and other Stemmer products, visit the website at www.stemmer-imaging.co.uk.
