Two more members of TDK-Lambda UK's production team have attained Green Belt status in Lean Six-Sigma techniques. Throughout the six-month training period, which was run by the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) in the South West, Tim Puttick and Paul Courtney were engaged in running a real-world project. Clive Davies, the Manufacturing Engineering and IT Manager, and an experienced Six-Sigma Black Belt holder at TDK-Lambda, supervised the in-house project. He comments: "The project focussed on the final test stage of one of our key configurable power supply products, for which they improved upon the level of first-time passes and gained a better knowledge when identifying process improvements. Well done!"
Speaking about the project, Tim Puttick, the Production Manager, said: "Throughout the programme we were reminded about the importance of obtaining the right data about a process, handling it in such a way as to generate the most relevant information, and then acting on this information in the correct fashion. I found the course to be a good opportunity to share my ideas with people from different companies, where their experiences have helped in seeing problems from a different perspective and finding solutions that were specific to my project."
