HBM's EASYswitch process controller with TEDS allows up to five switch events/characteristics to be tested, either simultaneously or sequentially, in test one cycle. The range of different sensors has been increased for improved monitoring of switching systems for power distribution in automotive or high-quality consumer goods.
Using EASYswitch provides added security by reducing potential claims under product liability legislation, since it provides traceable data in the event of customer complaints. Accurately monitoring and documenting switching systems reduces the percentage of rejects and production downtime.
EASYswitch works by providing consistent recording of the functioning of switching elements and locking systems using force, displacement or torque/angle of rotation sensors during production. EASYswitch is intended for the automotive, energy and other markets where there are demands for high-quality production and traceability. Correctly testing switches and locking systems gives immediate results for optimal quality and production control.
To aid manufacturers, EASYswitch features tactile feedback when activating pushbuttons and rotary switches as well as identifying and documenting the switching characteristics of single- or multiple-pole voltage switches.
Based on HBM's PME modules, EASYswitch can be integrated into existing systems and customised applications using the API software library. Test stands can be integrated using Fieldbus (Profibus-DPV1) or Fast Ethernet, while setup and handling is simplified by using PME-Assistant. EASYswitch can be remotely controlled and serviced using Ethernet or through the internet.
Results can be viewed using the FASTpress software package running on standard IPC equipment with Windows Vista, XP or CE. Test results and parameter sets can be stored on memory cards in the MP85A-S or via Ethernet on a standalone PC or industrial server.
EASYswitch is provided in a compact and robust industrial housing and is claimed to offer an excellent price/performance ratio.
