UK manufacturer invests in aerospace expansion

Managing Director, Roger Kenworthy, observes: "In spite of the difficult economic trading environment world-wide, we have seen consistent growth in our business and expansion of our customer base. With a strong order book and significant recent contract awards we have set out a major investment plan to expand and develop our core precision manufacturing and assembly capabilities."

Reliance has always placed a high emphasis on the importance of metrology and a key part of the investment, already underway, is the development of a new temperature-controlled metrology laboratory, which will house a complete suite of measurement and inspection equipment including a new sub-micron resolution Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

Operations Manager, Ken Jolley, is enthusiastic about the future: "When looking at new equipment we never replace like-for-like, we always look to push forward our technical ability. This investment programme does just that, and, importantly, will help us build on our exemplary quality and delivery record."
