The judging panel for the UKIVA's "˜Most Innovative Machine Vision Project' award have announced that the three companies short-listed for the award are: RNA Automation, Olmec-UK and Stemmer Imaging. This new award, which is part of the PPMA (Processing & Packaging Manufacturing Association) Group Awards, recognises the most innovative vision system installed in the period between January 2011 to June 2012, taking into account factors such as increased productivity, safety and creativity.
RNA Automation's nomination is for a rotating disc vision inspection system for use with food/pharmaceutical products. Olmec-UK has designed and installed a vision system for the final inspection of ear drop dispensers prior to packaging, while Stemmer Imaging were nominated for their work in the development of the imaging system for the C-Cell bread & baked product quality assessment system.
The winner of the "˜Most Innovative Machine Vision Project' award will be announced on the evening of Tuesday 25th September 2012 - the first night of the PPMA Show - and the result posted on the UKIVA website shortly afterwards.
