R.A. Rodriguez has won the Metalworking Production award for the Best Automation System - for the Universal Robot, a low-cost 6-axis robot arm that is both simple to use and accurate.
The MWP Awards were devised to recognise outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture and supply of production equipment. The awards ceremony itself was held during the MACH exhibition at Birmingham's NEC.
R.A. Rodriguez is known for precision engineering components and automation systems. This award was for one of its automation products, for which the company is the UK distributor. The Universal Robot is a neat, six-axis device that provides highly cost-effective automation without the need for specialist robotic programming knowledge.
Commenting on the achievement, Peter Williamson, Managing Director of R.A. Rodriguez, said: "This award breaks new ground for us and I am delighted that such a simple-to-use device has caught the judges' imagination. It is a really flexible product that represents exceptionally good value for money, allowing the user to economically improve productivity."
