A new generation of inductive proximity switches from ifm electronic is ready for a wide range of applications. Characterised by wider operating temperatures and ultimate sealing the new range, known as NT, are designed for use where up to now standard sensors would be hard pressed to survive.
ifm's new NT range of inductive sensors will work in oils and coolants, as well as generally wet areas, as they are fully tested to IP 65, IP 66, IP 67, IP 68 and IP 69K. Not content with the seal, ifm has designed this new range to operate at 40degC below zero, or up as high as 85degC. This wide temperature range means application in cold stores or on mobile machinery can be handled with ease.
New manufacturing methods are employed in the construction of the NT, permitting tighter tolerances in performance, thus enhanced reliability for machine operators. The NT range has started with 60mm long connector versions of standard M12, M18 and M30 housings, flush or non-flush, pnp or npn, all with industry-standard M12 connection. Further units are under development.
