Versatile ultrasonic sensors offer precision and reliability

When long ranges and high accuracy are demanded, ultrasonic sensors are up to the task. In dusty, humid and misty environments they are often even the only alternative. Balluff ultrasonic sensors with IP67 protection can also replace multiple traditional sensors or provide additional distance information, since some versions in the cylindrical M30 housing feature an analogue output with two additional switching points.

Ultrasonic sensors in M12 housings are suitable for detecting small parts, and can also be used where mounting space is restricted. Their high resolution and minimal blind zone ensure high precision. At close range they can detect virtually any material, even in critical environments such as fog, steam and dust. And with their rugged stainless steel housings, these versatile sensors are at home even in harsh conditions, whereas their bigger brother in the M18 housing stands out with impressive sensing ranges of up to 1500mm.

Especially interesting for users is the fact that some models can take over the function of multiple sensors. One or two switching points can be set on one ultrasonic sensor, an analogue measurement can be taken, or one analogue output signal combined with two switching points.

Selected Balluff ultrasonic sensors cab also be synchronised, with the advantage that sensors which are located adjacent to each other do not exhibit mutual interference. For long ranges there is also a maxi-sensor with optional switching or analogue output.
