Vishay's VCNL4010 proximity and ambient light sensor at Mouser

The Vishay Semiconductors VCNL4010 Proximity and Ambient Light Sensor combines an infrared emitter, photo-pin-diode, ambient light detector, signal processing features, and 16-bit analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) all in one compact package. The power-saving interrupt function enables the sensor to stay idle until a predefined proximity or ambient light event occurs, thereby triggering and waking up the chip.

This sensor offers 100Hz and 120Hz flicker noise rejection, and the built-in ambient light photo-pin-diode offers sensitivity close to that of the human eye, with a 16-bit dynamic range for ambient light detection from 0.25lux to 16klux. The sensor offers a Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) of 3, and operates over a temperature range of -25degC to + 85degC. Other features of the VCNL4010 include a low stand-by current consumption of 1.5¼A and a supply voltage range of 2.5V to 3.6V.
