W8 Inox photoelectric proximity sensors boast fast response
Sick is launching the W8 Inox photoelectric proximity sensors that are claimed to offer the highest standards of rugged environmental protection for a wide range of duties. Comprising five models, including proximity (with and without background suppression), reflex and through-beam types, the W8 Inox miniature sensors are said to deliver the fastest response speed on the market for improved precision at a very competitive price.
Phil Dyas, Sick (UK)'s Industrial Sensors Specialist, comments: "With IP69K protection, stainless steel construction and high-performance, scratch-resistant and optical plastic outer components, the W8 Inox provides extreme reliability.
"Regimes such as harsh detergent washdown in food, beverage and pharmaceutical processes, or resistance to hot cutting fluids and lubricants in CNC centres, are typical applications. We have trialled it in many different locations with excellent feedback."
Sick's new W8 Inox photoelectric proximity sensors are based on Sick' the company's innovative Pinpoint LED-based sensor that ensures excellent scanning ranges up to 20m, depending on the model, and is claimed to offer greater reliability than low-power lasers with comparable performance. The concentrated light spot aids beam adjustment, and the sensor-mounted control facilitates easy set-up.
Using standard M3 stainless steel mountings, installation of the W8 Inox is rapid, trouble-free and durable. The compact 333 x 11 x 22mm dimensions are based on standard industrial sensor sizes.
