WDS unveils clamps and castors at Machine Building show
WDS was exhibiting products from across its extensive range at the 2010 Machine Building & Automation show. One of the highlights on its stand was the new Toggle Clamp Lite, a range of lighter-duty toggle clamps. While the company is still selling its popular medium- and heavy-duty ranges, the light-duty clamps are suitable for applications that do not require high clamping loads, yet it is still necessary to have the security of an over-centre clamping action.
As with the larger products, the light-duty clamps are manufactured in the UK from plated steel, with a moulded plastic handle. A further advantage of the new clamps is, of course, that customers who do not need a heavier-duty clamp no longer have to pay more than they need to for a clamp of an adequate specification.
Another new product being promoted on the WDS stand was a family of phenolic castors. These are intended for applications in the food industry and are said to be impervious to attack from either foodstuffs or cleaning chemicals.
