ESAB is introducing a new type of welding glove that provides protection against radiated heat at up to 1500degC. This high level of protection is achieved on the back of the glove using a combination of woven ceramic fibres and aluminised Kevlar fibres. On the palm of the glove, high-grade 1.3mm side split leather and Thermolate felt provide contact heat protection to 120degC.
Further features of the glove include a full jersey lining, a wing thumb and fully welted Kevlar stitching. Despite the high specification, the glove remains comfortable when worn for extended periods.
The new heavy-duty glove complies fully with the applicable parts of EN 12477 Protective gloves for welders, and EN 388 Protective gloves against mechanical risks, Category 2 (Intermediate Design). It is also tested and approved by a Notified Body so as to be CE marked to the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive 89/686/EEC.
ESAB's heavy-duty, heat-resistant welding gloves are featured in the company's new 96-page PPE and Welding Accessories catalogue, which is available free of charge from ESAB Publicity on 0800 3893152 or email [email protected].
