Micro-Epsilon claims to offer the widest range of inductive displacement sensors and LVDTs available, with around 250 different standard types, all of which are detailed in a new 52-page catalogue. Most importantly, virtually all of these products are available for immediate delivery from stock.
These induSENSOR devices cover measurement ranges from 0.5-630mm and various inductive measuring principles are used. As well as a diverse standard range, application-specific models and custom OEM sensors are also included.
The range of drive circuit electronics covers variants from an integrated controller through to versions with die cast aluminium housings and ASIC versions for OEM production. The catalogue provides information about the function of the individual measuring principles and technologies, terms and definitions, application examples and specific technical data on individual sensor models.

A recent innovation among the linear inductive displacement sensor range is the compact LDR series that have a housing diameter of just 8mm. In comparison to conventional LVDT sensors, the installation length is significantly less due to a new coil geometry.
The high-quality materials and rugged design enable the sensor to be used up to an operating temperature of 160degC with a typical linearity of +/-0.25 per cent. Measurement ranges from 10-50mm are currently available. Due to the symmetrical construction, a temperature stability of
LDR series sensors can be provided with either an axial plug connection or an axially fitted cable. The sensors are suitable for large-scale production applications in industrial environments where space is restricted.
